Placing a Bet

Placing the bet is a technical thing but still we have a few things to tell you about it:

• First of all the basics: the track makes revenues from commissions (percentage) of the betting. The minimum wager is usually $2
• At the beginning of your betting career try to stay with the lower bets
• Most tracks will have a window for beginners try to find it use it they will probably be more friendly
• Make sure to tell the teller the name of the track and the number of the race you want to bet on as most tracks will take bets on several tracks through satellite, so make sure you've got the correct one
• Tell the teller the amount of wager, the type of bet selected and the number of the horse you want to bet upon
• Make sure you keep the ticket with you at all times, preferably in your wallet
