Whilst Henry might not be quite the all conquering trainer that he was in his pomp he is still a major force to be reckoned with. To date he has sent out 23 classic winners spanning a twenty five year period between 1975 and 200. His four Derby winners, Slip Anchor (1985), Reference Point (1987), Commander in Chief (1993) and Oath (1999) are an excellent benchmark by anyone's standards, but it is his record in training fillies that is simply outstanding. Over the years Henry has chalked up seven Oaks winners to go alongside six winners of the 1000 Guineas. He was champion trainer ten times between 1976 and 1993. The only major race to prove illusive has been the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Henry has been trained many top horses, the pick of which is probably Oh So Sharp, winner of the One Thousand Guineas, Oaks and St Ledger in 1985.
