The main story of Aiden is yet to unfold. There is no doubt that there are plenty more of the biggest prizes in racing ready and waiting to come his way in the next few years. Last year alone he claimed the Derby with Galileo, the Oaks with Imagine and the St Ledger with Milan, with a string of further major races, including the Irish Derby and the King George VI being won by his horses. The previous year he had trained the 'Iron Horse', Giant's Causeway, to five successive group one winners. The fact that the horse also managed second place in the English and Irish 2000 Guineas, the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and the Breeders' Cup Classic tells you how close Aiden came to training possibly the greatest racehorse ever seen on these shores.

It's not just on the level that Aiden excels either. Over timber he is responsible for Istabraq, three times winner of the Champion Hurdle and at the time of writing aiming for a fourth victory. I'm sure that his rivals in the flat racing world would love to see him focus more on the jumping game before he develops a complete monopoly of the biggest flat racing prizes.
