A record breaking jump jockey. Career wins of 1678 plus 221 winners in a season (1988-9) both stood as records at the time of his retirement. Peter, like Tony McCoy, benefited enormously from being stable jockey to Martin Pipe, but there is no doubt that Peter was also a great jockey in his own right. A little short on big race winners, but he did win the Champion Hurdle twice (1988 and 1993).
